Kenya Waives Travel Authorization for Most African Visitors

Kenya will permit citizens of almost all African countries to visit without completing pre-travel authorization, following a new directive issued by the cabinet.

Previously, Kenya required most foreign travelers to apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization at least three days before departure. The authorization cost 30 US dollars and was valid for up to 90 days.

The pre-approval system faced criticism for making travel to Kenya more burdensome. The updated policy aims to simplify entry procedures and encourage easier travel across the African continent.
