Qatar Waives Visa-on-Arrival Fee for Macao Passport Holders

Qatar has officially removed the visa-on-arrival fee for travelers holding Macao Special Administrative Region passports. The measure took effect on August 18, 2026, following notification from Qatar's Consulate General in Hong Kong to Macao's Identification Services Bureau.

Under the updated arrangement, Macao passport holders still receive a tourist visa on arrival rather than entering completely visa-free. However, eligible visitors arriving at Hamad International Airport in Doha will no longer be charged a fee for the visa.

The policy change brings Qatar's entry rules closer to those for Hong Kong passport holders, who have been permitted visa-free stays of up to 30 days since May 2025. Travelers from Macao must still satisfy standard entry conditions, including holding valid passport documentation and proof of return or onward travel.
