Guide
Belize gives most visitors 30 days. Nationals of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, most of the EU, Mexico, Guatemala, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and a long list of others do not need a visa for stays of under 30 days, and visitors are usually given a one month stay that can be extended at an Immigration Department office. A passport must be valid for at least three months after arrival, and visitors need a return ticket and funds, with guides putting the sufficient funds figure at 75 US dollars a day.
Leaving by land costs money. At the Guatemalan border, the Belizean departure fee is 40 Belize dollars, about 20 US dollars, covering border, conservation, and development charges.
