The Federated States of Micronesia, spanning the four states of Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae from west to east, gives most visitors a 30 day tourist stamp on arrival with no visa needed, though the specific allowance runs from 30 up to 90 or even 365 days depending on nationality. Every visitor needs a passport valid for at least 120 days from arrival, notably longer than the six month standard common elsewhere, plus a confirmed onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds, and the same entry rules apply consistently whichever of the four states is your actual destination.
Departure costs add up across a few separate charges: a 20 dollar Departure Tax and a 30 dollar Green Fee apply per person at departure, and Kosrae specifically collects an additional 15 dollar departure tax on top. None of the FSM's airports have ATMs or accept credit cards, so guides are specific that cash needs to be in hand before you get there.
