Guernsey Travel Guide

Guernsey, like Jersey and the Isle of Man, introduced an Electronic Travel Authorisation from 23 April 2026, with applications opening 9 April, for non-visa nationals traveling from outside the Common Travel Area directly to the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The ETA costs 16 pounds, is valid for two years from issue or until your passport expires, whichever comes first, and covers multiple journeys within that period for stays of up to six months each. British citizens are exempt from the requirement entirely.

Guernsey is a Crown Dependency with its own government, legal system, and immigration policy, distinct from the UK despite sharing CTA-aligned border standards, and importantly, the standard UK ETA does not cover Guernsey, this is a genuinely separate system with its own application process, worth not conflating the two if you have already applied for a UK ETA and assume it extends here automatically.
