Guinea keeps things simple for its regional neighbors and mandatory for nearly everyone else. Citizens of ECOWAS member states need only a valid travel document, a passport, national ID card, or similar, for stays under 90 days, no visa application at all. Everyone else applies for an e-Visa at the official government site, paf.gov.gn/visa, with standard processing taking three to four business days. Guinea does offer a visa on arrival, but it is limited to UAE nationals specifically, for stays of up to 90 days, not a general option for other nationalities without an e-Visa already arranged.
Conakry's Gbessia International Airport, the country's main entry point, has an extra procedural step for e-Visa holders beyond the usual immigration line, travelers go to a dedicated visa desk to present their eVisa registration receipt, where a photo and fingerprints are taken as part of biometric registration. A yellow fever certificate is required without exception for every traveler aged 9 months and older, regardless of nationality or route.
