Guide
Montenegro lets most Western travelers in for 90 days within 180 without a visa. That covers all Schengen Annex II countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and every EU and EEA state. Guides advise carrying proof of onward travel and sufficient funds even when entry is visa free, and a passport with at least six months of validity.
The visa map has been moving. The government adopted an amendment to its visa regime on 23 July 2026 under which citizens of certain countries will need visas from 1 November 2026, and Turkish citizens lost visa-free access before it was restored on 23 December with the permitted stay cut from 90 days to 30.
