Guide
North Macedonia's entry list is broad. According to guides, as of January 2026 citizens of the EU and Schengen countries, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Brunei, the UAE, Taiwan, Israel, Malaysia, and Singapore are among those who can stay up to 90 days without a visa. Guides also list a passport valid for at least 90 days from arrival, a booking if you have no residence in the country, and a requirement to declare 10,000 euros or equivalent on entry and exit.
A temporary waiver is worth knowing about. The foreign ministry says that citizens holding valid multiple-entry British, American, or Canadian visas may enter without a short-term visa through 31 December 2026, provided the visa remains valid for at least five days beyond their stay, although one guide describes the same waiver as ending in 2025, so check the ministry's page.
Border crossings
- Deve Bair and Gyueshevo, the Bulgarian crossing
The most significant and busiest crossing with Bulgaria, near the town of Kumanovo, with Zlatarovo to Novo Selo a smaller alternative.
- Blace and Elez Han, toward Kosovo
