Mongolia's visa free list is generous but specific, and it is on a one year clock. For 2026, citizens of 34 countries can enter for tourism for up to 30 days: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Another source describes a longer list of more than 60 countries, so the count differs between sources, and travelers from countries not named here should check the official immigration list rather than assume.
South Korean citizens can stay up to 90 days visa free, valid until 31 December 2026. If you stay more than 30 days you must register with the Immigration Agency within 7 days of arrival, and a passport should be valid for at least 6 months from arrival. The e-Visa at evisa.mn is available only to citizens of designated eligible countries, and everyone else applies for a sticker visa through a Mongolian diplomatic mission.

Mongolia is landlocked between the two, and travelers do use the train through both. The sources used for this guide did not give crossing by crossing rules, so check the visa position for Russia or China separately, since each has its own entry requirements.
