Mozambique overhauled its entry system on 11 February 2026, launching a new official e-Visa and Electronic Travel Authorization platform. SADC member states, South Africa, Botswana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and the rest of the regional bloc, get 90 days visa free. Beyond that, the new platform runs two tracks, an ETA for 29 named countries and a full e-Visa for others, alongside an expanded visa on arrival that remains available at major airports including Maputo, Vilanculos, Pemba, and Beira, as well as key land borders, priced at 50 US dollars, payable in cash or by card at some entry points.
Yellow fever proof is required specifically for arrivals from an endemic zone, much of Central and West Africa and parts of South America, rather than a blanket rule for every nationality, so it depends on where your trip started or passed through, not your passport alone.

The main gateway and one of several where visa on arrival remains an option alongside the new ETA and e-Visa platform.

Also listed as visa on arrival points, useful for a traveler flying directly into one of Mozambique's coastal or northern regions rather than routing everything through the capital.

Regional bloc citizens cross with no visa needed at all for up to 90 days, the simplest route for travelers from South Africa or several other neighboring countries.
