Zambia raised its visa fees on 1 January 2026. A single entry visa now costs 50 US dollars, up from 25, a double entry visa is 80 dollars, up from 40, a multiple entry visa is 80, up from 75, the KAZA UniVisa is unchanged at 50, and a day tripper visa is unchanged at 10 dollars. Citizens of 167 countries were reported to be visa exempt as of 2025, and those who do need a visa can apply through the government's e-Visa portal at eservices.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm.
The KAZA UniVisa is the one to know. It is valid for 30 days with multiple entries between Zambia and Zimbabwe, and it also gives you a one day pass to Botswana through the Kazungula border post. It is not available online and has to be bought in person at Lusaka's Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Livingstone's Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport, and various border posts.
Border crossings
- Victoria Falls, now open around the clock
The Zambia and Zimbabwe border post at the Falls is described as open 24 hours a day.
- Kazungula, the Botswana bridge
The bridge to Botswana has pedestrian walkways on both sides, and for a traveler going from Botswana into Zambia, both countries' immigration offices are in one building on the Zambian side.
- Nakonde, into Tanzania

Transit routes
- Livingstone is the gateway to the Falls
Its airport is one of the places the KAZA visa is sold, so a traveler landing there can get one on the spot.
- Day trips to Botswana
The KAZA visa's one day pass means a day at Chobe from Livingstone or the Falls does not need a separate Botswana visa.
