You should have Tiered by length of intended stay, confirmed directly on the Macao SAR Government Portal: at least MOP 5,000 for a stay of up to 7 days, MOP 10,000 for 8 to 14 days, MOP 15,000 for 15 to 21 days, and MOP 20,000 for a stay of more than 21 days.

All visitors must clear Customs and declare any dutiable goods beyond the duty free allowance. The "Macao Health Code" digital health declaration system introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic ceased operation on 27 March 2023, with all its personal data deleted at that time, confirmed directly on the Macao SAR Government Portal, so it is not a current requirement; no other general mandatory arrival registration system for ordinary tourists was found in this research

Check with the embassy for overstay penalties.Overstaying is fined MOP 500 to 800 per overdue day, not exceeding MOP 15,000 total, payable within 10 working days. An overstayer of 30 days or less who turns themselves in to police, or is caught and has not been fined for the same infraction within the past year, can have their status normalized rather than face deportation; otherwise deportation and an entry ban follow

Declare cash above MOP 120,000 combined cash and bearer negotiable instruments, declared using the Red Channel and a completed declaration form.

Apply for an Extension of Authorization to Stay through the Public Security Police's own PS-1476 service, not exceeding 90 days in aggregate; an Exceptional Extension of Authorization to Stay is also available for genuinely unusual circumstances

Macao's own currency is the pataca (MOP), roughly MOP 8 to USD 1 at informal reference rates, so the MOP 120,000 currency declaration threshold is roughly USD 15,000, not an official USD figure. Passport validity is genuinely different from most destinations in this project, valid for 90 days beyond the length of the intended stay itself, not a fixed number of months from the date of entry regardless of how long the visit is. A nationality normally requiring a visa may also enter without one for up to 48 hours specifically in transit through Macau International Airport, already noted on the Visa on Arrival fallback rows in seeds/macao_visa_rules.sql
