Overstay penalty
50A flat AED 50 per day overstay fine applies uniformly across tourist visas, visit visas, residence visas, and cancelled residence permits alike, standardized by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) effective 11 February 2026. The former 10 day grace period has also been removed under this same update, fines now begin immediately upon expiry rather than after a grace window

Extension
A Dubai issued tourist or visit visa can be extended in 30 day blocks, a maximum of two times (60 extra days total), through GDRFA, requiring a passport valid at least 6 months beyond the extension, proof of accommodation, and a confirmed return ticket; a base fee of AED 600 plus 5% VAT applies per extension, approval typically arriving within 48 to 72 hours
