CURRENT CLOSURE: Tokelau's borders are closed to visitors until further notice, confirmed current as of July 2026, no permits of any kind are currently being issued to anyone regardless of nationality, the Tokelau Apia Liaison Office advises the closure will continue for the foreseeable future. Under the ordinary, currently suspended policy, non New Zealand citizens need a permit from the Liaison Office in Apia, Samoa, applied for 2 weeks to 1 month ahead, and New Zealand citizens may visit for up to 10 days without one, though a regular New Zealand visa does not itself cover Tokelau entry.
