Check with the embassy for overstay penalties.Overstaying a Visa on Arrival is fined 200 BDT per day for the first 15 days and 500 BDT per day thereafter, confirmed directly on the Special Branch's own VoA portal and corroborated by an independent source, overstayers must also pay the standard visa fee again. A broader overstay fee schedule for other visa types is set by the Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP), but the exact current per day tiers beyond 15 days could not be reliably confirmed, secondary sources disagree, one citing 1,000 BDT per day after 15 days, another describing a separate 1,000, 2,000, then 3,000 BDT tiered structure by day range; a traveler facing an overstay should confirm the current fee directly with DIP rather than rely on any single figure here. Overstays beyond 90 days can lead to prosecution by Bangladesh's immigration authorities

Declare cash above USD 5,000 (or equivalent) combined foreign currency cash, confirmed directly against Bangladesh Customs regulations, amounts above this must be declared using Form FMJ; non residents may bring in no more than BDT 100 in local currency, and no more than BDT 2,000 may be carried out on departure.

Apply at the Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP) office in Agargaon, Dhaka, adjacent to the passport office; the Special Branch's own VoA portal cautions this can be a hassle requiring multiple visits on different days
