KWD 10KWD 10 per day, capped at a maximum of KWD 2,000 total, no grace period. A temporary, crisis driven one month automatic extension with a full overstay fine waiver was announced for visit visas expiring on or after 28 February 2026, tied to a regional conflict; treat this as a dated, temporary measure, not the ongoing standard overstay policy.
Currency limits
Declare cash above KWD 3,000 (roughly USD 9,700) or its equivalent in any foreign currency or in gold, declared electronically via the government's Sahel app at any port of entry or exit.
Extension
A standard visit visa (90 days from entry) may be extended once for a further 3 month period, a total continuous stay of up to 6 months, filed at a Residency Affairs office or online through the Kuwait Government Online Temporary Residence (Visit Extension) e-service before the current visa expires. Since 2026, an extension application also requires valid private health insurance from a Ministry of Health registered local provider, covering the requested extension period.
Also worth knowing
Two further conditional entry paths exist on top of the standard visa_rules rows and are not tied to a single passport nationality, so they are not modeled as their own rows: (1) confirmed since 10 August 2025, any traveler holding valid Gulf Cooperation Council country residency (6 or more months remaining) qualifies for Visa on Arrival regardless of their own nationality; (2) a traveler already holding a valid US, Schengen Area, or UK visa or residence permit qualifies for a simplified e-Visa-only path, single or multiple entry, maximum 30 days per stay, valid up to 1 year. The 6 month passport validity rule above also does not apply to Gulf Cooperation Council citizens, who may enter using only a national ID card.
Reminder
Always confirm with the official embassy or consulate before you fly.
