Togo stopped issuing visa on arrival, so every non-ECOWAS traveler now needs an e-Visa arranged in advance, applied for at least five days before arrival through the official government portal. ECOWAS citizens remain visa exempt, and everyone else can get a stay of up to 90 days through the e-Visa, priced on a sliding scale from 25,000 CFA francs for a 15 day single entry visa up to 65,000 CFA francs for the full 90 day version.
The e-Visa needs to be printed and shown to immigration officers on arrival, whether you land at Gnassingbe Eyadema International Airport in Lome or cross at a land border, and officials only issue the entry stamp once they have confirmed three things together, your passport, your visa or e-Visa, and your yellow fever certificate. A passport valid for at least six months beyond your entry date is required of every visitor.
